Interactive Exhibition of the Bothnic Bay

By Luotokeskus you find the interactive nature exhibition of the Bothnic Sea provided by Metsähallitus (National Board of Forestry). The exhibition offers plenty to do and see for visitors of all ages. The exhibition covers special features of the crustal uplift of the coast, the nature by the sea and the traditional maritime way of life. Research and data on the area collected by the Oulu University Research Centre of The Bothnic Bay were used in designing the exhibition.

State of the art technology has been used in order to provide visitors with information by interaction. The main element being the giant silver screen, three metres high and eleven metres long, it has an arched canvas on which three data projectors throw full-size images or videos simultaneously, separately or in sync. The giant screen is interactive, i.e. that the visitors choose the content and stories by touching specific areas on the screen.

The exhibition also houses more traditional elements such as stuffed animals, local and historical artefacts, local products and art.
