The Kniivilä Museum and its surroundings are an introduction to Hailuoto history.

Opening hours

In summertime Jun 25th. -Aug 30th.  From wednesday to sunday. 11 A.M. - 5 P.M.,  additionally at other times of the year under request from the local guides.

Guided tours content

During the opening hours, a museum guide takes you on a tour of the Kniivilä House and the family history. The tour also include storytelling and important information on Hailuoto history. The tour takes about one hour.

There are about 3000 listed objects in themuseum. The Kniivilä House represents the traditional way of living on countryside on Hailuoto Island. There are objects for example about farming, fishing and hand craft tools. There is a great collection of farming, fishing and handicraft tools.
