How to get there:

By car

Ferries travel between mainland and Hailuoto every day of the year. So drive your car on board to the ferry and let the sea relax your mind during the 35 minutes ferry journey to the beautiful island. There are two ferries; the bigger one has space for up to 55 cars.
In winter, there is a unique ice road through the sea. Driving by car on the ice (8-9km) is unforgettable experience for anyone.

By bus

Coming to Hailuoto by bus is another popular way to get to the island. Buses also go on board the ferry. Bus 66 runs daily between Oulu city and the island. Guided bus tours are also booked from Hailuoto Tourist Office.

By plane

Tourists from all over the world easily arrive to Hailuoto via Oulu airport, which offers daily direct flights to Helsinki, Stockholm, Riga and Tallinn. Numerous connections make this airport the second busiest in Finland by passenger traffic. Trips to Hailuoto can be booked by taxi, bus or rental car companies.

By train

Oulu railway station links the city with the most important metropolises in Finland. Daily connections with Helsinki, Tampere, Rovaniemi and other urban areas are possible several times a day. Furthermore, Russia is reached everyday through Helsinki station.

By boat

You can arrive to Hailuoto by your own sailboat or motorboat. The Marjaniemi service harbour receives tourist on the western coast of the island. All the necessary services are located in the bay.

In The Marjaniemi guest harbour there is space for 50 guest boats and also sanitary facilities, sauna and kitchen.
